On the phone

What he is told, what he does with it.

Sunday evening · heating and plumbing

  1. Caller

It's Sunday, it's cold, the boiler stopped during the night and I have a baby at home.

  2. Léon

I understand. I'm on it. What is your address?

  3. Caller

Chemin des Vignes 12, in Lutry. There's a code, F28.

  4. Léon

Chemin des Vignes 12, Lutry, code F28. Please don't take anything apart. Who am I speaking with?

Received by the team

Repair, marked urgent, address, fault code, call-back number. The on-call mobile received the alert, the caller received her SMS.

Eleven at night · locksmith

  1. Caller

I'm locked out, the door slammed shut and my keys are inside.

  2. Léon

I'll help you. What is your address?

  3. Caller

Rue de Bourg 8, in Lausanne, third floor, Perret on the doorbell.

  4. Léon

Rue de Bourg 8, third floor, Perret. Stay near the door and don't force anything. The team will call you back.

Received by the team

Door opening, marked urgent, address with floor and name on the doorbell. No arrival time promised: the team calls back.

Tuesday morning · quote

  1. Caller

We'd like to replace the oil boiler with a heat pump. Roughly how much does that cost?

  2. Léon

I don't give any price, not even a rough one: the team quotes after seeing the installation. I can suggest a visit. What is the address of the house?

  3. Caller

Route de Berne 44, in Épalinges. Next Thursday afternoon, if possible.

  4. Léon

I'll suggest next Thursday afternoon, subject to the team's confirmation. You will get an SMS as soon as they confirm.

Received by the team

Quote request and suggested visit, to confirm in one click. No price was given.

These exchanges illustrate the job description: they were written for this page, not taken from a call. On the phone, Léon answers in the caller's language: French, German, Italian, English or Portuguese. Your team receives everything in French.

He takes

  • Call-outs, with the job address first: street, number, town, floor.
  • Quote requests, with what is in place and what is wanted.
  • Site follow-ups, invoices, property managers calling about a building.

He passes on

  • Every request by email and in your space, with the person's number.
  • Emergencies to your on-call mobile by SMS, the moment he marks them.
  • A visit suggested subject to confirmation, on the days in your job description, which you confirm in one click.

You stay in charge

  • Nothing is priced, nothing is promised without you. You call back, you decide.
  • Your hours, your visit days and your types of call can be changed by you, whenever you like.
  • What counts as urgent for you is written in your job description: our server enforces it, not just his voice.

Emergencies, on your mobile

A boiler that stops in winter will not wait until Monday.

When Léon marks an emergency, your on-call mobile receives an SMS, and the full request, with the address and the number, is waiting in your space and in your inbox. Mere impatience is not an emergency: the rule is in your job description, type of call by type of call.

The on-call SMS

Sunday · 21:14

URGENT - Vuille Plumbing: an urgent request needs your attention. View it here: reponds.ch/receptionniste

The SMS carries neither the address nor the person's number: they stay in your space.

The trial

You call yourself, before you hire.

Léon is tried out like Arthur: from your mobile, on our trial line, with your job description. Nothing to install, nothing to change on your side.

  1. The job description

The questionnaire starts from the template for your trade. You correct what does not fit you and write down what counts as urgent for you.

  2. Your mobile

You register it and an SMS code confirms it. That is how the trial line knows which business to answer for.

  3. You call

From that mobile, you call the trial line: Léon answers in your name, with your job description. 72 hours including 20 minutes of calls, no credit card.

  4. You decide

To set it up on your number, the Réponds! team calls you back, tests the line with you and offers you the contract.

Try Léon

The trial line number appears in your space as soon as your mobile is verified.

The trades

One job description template per trade.

Each template knows what to ask before recording a request, and what counts as an emergency. You start from one of them.

  • Heating and plumbing
  • Electrical work
  • Locksmithing
  • Blinds and shutters
  • Gardens and landscaping
  • Cleaning and caretaking

What he never says

The same refusals, on every job.

No price, not even an estimate, not even a “from”. The quote stays yours.
No date, no lead time for a visit. Your team is the one that commits.
No remote diagnosis, no instructions on a burner, a gas valve or a pressurised circuit.
Nothing made up: no guarantee, no progress update, no colleague's name.

Strengths
  • He asks for the address first on a call-out.
  • He separates the emergency from the rest and alerts your on-call mobile.
  • He never makes up a price, a lead time or a guarantee.
  • He leaves a written record of every call, even an interrupted one.

Weaknesses

The section no candidate ever fills in.

  • He does not transfer calls. He takes the request, and you call back.
  • He does not have your calendar. His visits stay pending until your click.
  • He refuses to give a price, even when pressed.

The price

The same contracts as Arthur.

Three contracts, VAT included, no commitment, the same for Arthur, Léon and Clara. You change contract whenever you like, and the line is never cut off.

Questions

What tradespeople ask us first.

I prefer to answer myself.

Keep doing so. Léon only takes the calls you don't: under the sink, up a ladder, in the car, at night. The forwarding is set with your operator, on no answer, and you switch it off whenever you like.

What happens at two in the morning?

The same as at two in the afternoon. He takes the address, marks the emergency if your job description says so, and your on-call mobile receives the SMS. You decide whether to get up.

What if someone hangs up halfway through?

Someone who hangs up after explaining their request still leaves a record for the team, with their number.

My trade is not on the list.

Léon then starts from a general template, and Marianna runs the front desk for other businesses. Tell us your trade, and we will tell you which of the two fits.

Leave your next missed call to Léon.

You keep your number. He answers in your name, and you receive the record.
